Ever since starting CrossFit Phil has had a profound interest in the body, which has led him down the path of studying exercise physiology. As a coach, he is a big fan of mastering the basics, and digging down into the smallest of details in both simple and technical exercises.
His coaching and training philosophy is training with intention, and he makes a great deal out of explaining the how’s and why’s in the program to his athletes. He believes by creating an independent self-conscious athlete it will not only help the person to develop tools for themselves, but also to challenge and grow himself as a coach.
In 2018 Phillip competed at his first ever regionals finishing in 15th place, this after coming 4th in his Open qualifying region
